Fire Officer Company Fire Officer
This course is designed for the first-line Company Fire Officer (CoFO). The Company Fire Officer course satisfies the requirements of the National Fire Protection Association - NFPA 1021 - Standard for Fire Officer Professional Qualifications - Fire Officer I and the Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal certification program. The CoFO program combines on-line/distance education with in-classroom practical applications to develop the student’s abilities to lead and manage single-fire company operations. Major responsibilities at this level include the International Association of Fire Chiefs Supervising Fire Officer duties. This includes responsibilities in areas such as; Human Resource Management, Community and Government Relations, Fire Service Administration, Fire Inspections and Investigations, Emergency Service Delivery along with Firefighter Health and Safety.
