Dear Chief,
As you may be aware, we launched a program several years ago for the Illinois Fire Chiefs Education and Research Foundation Scholarship program with Vitalant to develop a blood drive initiative for our communities. As we all know, we've seen many of your budgets cut dramatically, and education continues to be at the forefront of the items lost in this process. This program provides funding for the scholarship program every year.
This program's success is dependent on your participation. We need you to hold two blood drives this year. It's just that simple! We are only requiring a minimum of 25 presenting donors per drive, but most drives see at least twice that amount when fire departments are involved. Additionally, we have special periods throughout the year where incentive points are available and will enhance the success of your drive.
Once you're interested and want to participate, please contact Linda Markese, Imarkese@vitalant.org, 312.613.6838, our Vitalant Authorized Manager, and she will match your location to a Vitalant Donor Recruitment Representative who will reach out to you to begin the planning of your blood drive. They will bring you an agreement that you would sign to participate in the program.
This program will not work without your help! Every pint of blood is part of a point system that counts towards dollars for the scholarship program. We need you to be a part of this program and champion it locally. Your help with this program helps to enhance the careers of many through matching scholarship dollars provided by Vitalant to the Illinois Fire Chiefs Association Educational and Research Foundation.
