From the Desk of IFCA President Brian Lambel

Fire Chief, Wilmette Fire Department

We are just one week away from our 55th Annual IFCA Symposium, and we truly hope to see you there. I’m looking forward to hearing from our speakers and engaging in the learning sessions, but most importantly, I’m excited to connect with our attendees. These gatherings are invaluable opportunities to build relationships, share updates on our Association, celebrate what we’ve accomplished, and look ahead to what the rest of the year holds.

Every year brings new opportunities. IFCA leadership continually evolves with new Presidents, Directors, and Area Representatives. Beyond these roles, many internal and external committees are also seeking fresh voices. Just as succession planning is essential within your fire department, it is equally important for our Association. Over the next six months, we will be looking to fill a number of open positions. New chiefs bring new ideas, new energy, and new perspectives—and most importantly, diverse experiences that strengthen our organization.

If you’re joining us at this year’s Symposium, please take a moment to learn about the many ways you can get involved and help move our Association forward. If you’ve ever wondered where you can contribute more to the fire service, the IFCA is a great place to make an impact.

If you’re unable to attend this year but are interested or have questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Thank you for everything you do. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Stay Safe,
President Lambel
