Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Fire Science or related field and more than ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in fire management, fire suppression and EMS experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. Master’s Degree preferred. Completion of NIMS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, 800, Chief Fire Officer Provisional Status or certification and in good standing, Executive Fire Officer (EFO) or the ability to obtain within 4‐years of hire.
Compensation and Benefits
The starting salary range is $ 127,000 ‐ $ 140,000 DOQ. A comprehensive benefit package includes participation in the Illinois Downstate Firefighters Pension Fund, health insurance including medical, dental, and vision coverage (also available to dependents), life insurance, flexible spending account and voluntary participation in a deferred compensation program. The Village also offers paid vacation, holidays and sick days.
