Fire Officer I & II
Fire Officer I & II course(s) are based upon Office of the State Fire Marshal certification requirements and NFPA 1021 - Standard for Fire Officer Professional Qualifications.
Fire Officer I coursework consists of: Instructor I, Fire Prevention Principles, Tactics & Strategy I, Leadership I and Leadership II.
Fire Officer II coursework consists of Instructor II, Tactics & Strategy II, Leadership III and Leadership IV.
The current “legacy courses” which are offered in 40-hour blocks will no longer be available for certification credit after June 1, 2019. Those who have completed any course work within the legacy model are encouraged to complete it as soon as possible in order to meet the deadline.
After that date, only the Company Fire Officer and Advanced Fire Officer certification levels will be available. At this time, Instructor I and II remain 40-hour courses and are co-requisites to the legacy and new course models.
